Supporting Older Adults through Relationships and Resources (SOARR) with Technology

Implementation & Impact Evaluation

Overview

With support from the Daniels Fund, the Center for Inclusive Design and Engineering has launched a two-year project to develop online teaching and support modules for local community “Tech Mentors” who will help older adults in their community to use technology like laptops, tablets, and smart phones. Using a train-the-trainer model, the project provides training and ongoing support to older adults across the state to support their peers with technology use. SOARR will form strategic partnerships with organizations across the state who serve older adults to promote the project.

Evaluation Approach

In the initial year, evaluators work collaboratively with the project team to develop a logic model and evaluation plan to track and measure the statewide impact of the project. Once the training resource needs are identified and a training model is developed, tailored evaluation instruments such as surveys will be created.
