Overview

Mountain Sentinels serves as the backbone organization for the Mountain Science Operating with Society (MtnSOS) Alliance. MtnSOS is a global network of networks funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under an Accelerating Research through International Network-to-Network Collaborations (AccelNet) award. The intention of the Mtn SOS Alliance is to center local and indigenous knowledge, practices, and needs to guide goals and activities.

All evaluation efforts are grounded in the Indigenous Evaluation Framework which centers the evaluation in Indigenous wisdom, knowledge, strength, and power. We engage with MtnSOS network members to ensure that the evaluation is responsive, flexible, meaningful, and provides opportunity for learning.
