988 Colorado Mental Health Line

Implementation/Process Evaluation & Monitoring

Overview

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national hotline network designed to provide free, confidential, 24/7 support for individuals experiencing suicide, mental health, and substance use crises. In Colorado, the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line is managed by the Behavioral Health Administration and overseen by the 988 Enterprise Board.

Evaluation Approach

Evaluators implement a variety of approaches to support the evaluation and monitoring needs of the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line. We developed and maintain a data dashboard to share relevant 988 metrics with the public and interested partners. Additionally, we conduct timely in-depth analyses of various 988 programs and components as needed. These evaluations often include analysis of call data as well as collection and analysis of qualitative data from key informant interviews.

Additionally, our team supports the Behavioral Health Administration in responding to the data requirements of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant reporting requirements of the grant that partially supports the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line.
