Apshara is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health at the Anschutz Medical Campus. As a Graduate Assistant, she supports The Evaluation Center’s work with Colorado’s Statewide Prevention Collaborative and the State Epidemiological Workgroup (SEOW). Her responsibilities involve administrative and coordinating tasks, as well as providing data support with the development of SEOW products. Prior to studying at the Anschutz Medical Campus, Apshara earned her BS in Molecular Biology with a concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Denver. Throughout her undergraduate career, she worked in a lab focused on Neurodegenerative diseases and served as a medical assistant at a refugee clinic. Her passion for research and dedication to serving the refugee population in healthcare motivated her to pursue her MPH.
In her free time, Apshara loves weight training, cooking, reading, and binge-watching Star Wars.
