Angela Castillo

She/Her

Evaluation Specialist

Joining The Evaluation Center in 2024, Angela brings her quantitative expertise to both the 988 and Colorado Prosecutorial Dashboards projects. Before joining The Evaluation Center, Angela supported monitoring, evaluation and research for county and local governments’ programs in the criminal legal and public health fields. She developed data collection tools, and performed on-going quantitative data quality assurance, analysis and reporting. She most enjoyed developing database modules, conducting interviews to inform program resources, and planning and implementing a county-wide community health survey of adults.

Having worked and volunteered with a variety of direct service non-profit organizations (serving people living with HIV/AIDS, vulnerable children and human trafficking survivors), Angela enjoys teaming with program staff to increase their appreciation and capacity for evaluation. Angela is excited by the problem-solving aspects of data analysis while not forgetting that the data are not just numbers but represent real, dynamic people.

Angela holds a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas-Austin and a M.A. in Social Sciences with a concentration in Demographic and Social Analysis from the University of California-Irvine.

She enjoys her time volunteering, never tires of tennis, and keeps an eye on city and library program calendars. Events about nature and wildlife, cooking, other countries, and literature are some of her favorites.
