Collective Capacity Building Tool
The Collective Capacity Building Tool (CCBT) is an assessment designed to support partners of community-based participatory research (CBPR) projects engage in joint planning and reflection through consensus-based discussions. The CCBT has been adapted from a more extensive, research-based instrument originally developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The Evaluation Center has used the modified tool as a pre and post assessment of evidence that community-engaged research projects are authentically integrating CBPR principals through their work. The CCBT features 19 items with space to document current activities and a scale to help measure progress. There is also a section at the end to support partners in prioritizing future directions/activities, based on the partnership's self-assessment of progress and areas that need further attention.
